Mermaids

This series is about the mermaids as I see them. They are bold and beautiful, mysterious and feminine—much like the women I am grateful to have in my life.

The practice of automated drawing, without planning, helps me get settled into the studio and comes with some purpirsing results and inspiration for further creations. Below are samples of some mermaids created in this process.

Here are some more formal mermaid watercolor paintings. They’ve always existed in my mind, and hold a close place to my heart. I don’t believe I will ever tire on the subject!
